Project Snail Mail – Issue #22

Snail Mail Issue #22 from Code VA’s Eureka Workshop!

This past spring, we moved to a quarterly publication of Snail Mail. We’re excited to be able to provide students with a compiled list of offline resources from Code VA’s Eureka Workshop. Welcome to edition #22 – The Science of Plants!

Learn how a seed decides to grow by finding out about simulations and conditionals.  Discover how new crops are created and how Punnett Squares can help figure out how certain characteristics appear in offspring.  Read about how computer science plays a role in Controlled Environmental Agriculture in an interview with Dr. Kaylee South – Assistant Professor of Controlled Environmental Agriculture from the School of Plant and Environmental Sciences at Virginia Tech at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research in Danville, VA.  Finally, find your way through a fun vine maze!

Haven’t signed up yet? Don’t worry! You can access all the activities we have sent digitally and sign up your student to receive the next issue.  If you have any questions about the Snail Mail activities in this issue, then feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. Thanks for being our favorite pen pals!
