Educator Spotlight: Lisa Trout

“I believe that school libraries are an ideal place to introduce computer science to our students because it’s the center for knowledge exploration. As educators, we understand that students express acquired knowledge differently, so the library’s makerspace becomes the ideal introduction to computer science. I’m always inspired by seeing a student’s aptitude for CS come alive. It’s invigorating to see a student’s creativity burst, their self-consciousness for trial-and-error fade, and the student’s desire to do more—learn more, erupt.

   “Librarians are here to

help ignite CS.”
