Description

April’s showers bring – you guessed it! Plants, flowers, and sprouts. But how much water is the right amount for our growing plants? In this workshop we’ll code a moisture sensor that’s calibrated to one plant’s individual needs. We’ll learn why gardeners rely on STEM essentials in their own greenhouses and farms. And we’ll cover basic troubleshooting skills for budding programmers. Each participant will complete the workshop with a potted plant that has a Circuit Playground Express monitoring soil moisture.

Notes

Materials fees cover a Circuit Playground Express, small plant, plant pot, and wires. If participants want to use their own plant thy can choose the materials option that only includes hardware. Material pickup will be coordinated two weeks before class starts.
