Computer Science Education Week is coming up once again this December from the 7th to the 11th! Instead of a one day in-person launch event like CodeVA has hosted in previous years, we’re busy planning for a full virtual week of speakers, kids programming, and sessions for teachers!

Educator of the Year Nominations
Every year here at CodeVA we recognize one outstanding computer science educator from the state of Virginia at Computer Science Education Week. If you know an outstanding K-12 computer science educator who goes above and beyond, we want to hear about it! Nominate a coworker, friend, or just an educator you happen to know below!
*All nominations should be made and completed by October 30th.
Computer Science in Your Neighborhood Competition
Are you ready to let your students shine? The Virginia Department of Education and Code Virginia are hosting a competition open to all Virginia students during CS ED Week! Winners will be announced at the CS Ed Week Launch Event on Dec. 7th and receive a laptop or classroom set of robots made possible by Facebook.
Any student, classroom, or group in grades K-12 are welcome to apply. We encourage students, either on their own or collaboratively, to address the prompts below by submitting drawings, stories, essays, videos, programs, 3D models, papier mâché volcanoes, websites, dance routines, magic tricks, or anything else they can submit digitally!

- 6-12 Contest Prompt: Planning for your Virtual Future – What would you create using computer science?
