This Webinar spotlights CodeVA’s Elementary Computer Science training program – the Elementary Coaches Academy. This program prepares school district employees to run professional development in their school and district.
Background:
In November of 2017 the Virginia DOE passed the new Computer Science Standards of Learning, making Virginia the first state in the country to mandate -cs for all students.

The Coaches Academy
The training includes:
- Online modules covering computer science topics
- 72 hours of in-person training
- Support from teachers with expertise in incorporating computer science into their classes
- All books and printed materials
- Elementary Coaches Manual – a collection of professional learning activities to use in running professional development for your school
